Irregularities in Iraq's election
While early reports indicate that 8 million people turned out to vote in the January 30 election in Iraq, other reports of election irregularities, signs of intimidation and fraud may mar the outcome.
Iraqi Labor leader Talib Khadim Kidnapped
At 9:30 am on Thursday 27 January 2005 a group of six gunmen broke into a factory in Baghdad and kidnapped Mr. Talib Khadim Al Tayee, President of the Iraqi Mechanics', Metalworkers' & Printworkers' Union.
