Geneva, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) Ecuador´s Justice Minister Gustavo Jalkh, asked Colombia's aggression to his country be addressed by the UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva.

According to the Ecuadoran official, the cross-border raid by Colombian military against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia last Satuday was a serious violation of all rights.

In his speech at the top level meeting of the UN Human Rights Council's Seventh Session Jalkh reiterated his country's vocation for peace, but strongly rejected any act violating Ecuador´s sovereignty and integrity.

Our territory has been intentionally bombed, and the human rights of all Ecuadorans put at risk, the minister claimed.

He recalled that his country's President Rafael Correa said there is not justification for such aggression and that Quito is expecting the international community to close ranks behind Ecuador, in order to curtail such a harmful precedent the Colombia government is trying to impose on neighboring countries.

The minister claimed his government is implementing Ecuador's Plan, a peaceful development project, in five border provinces directly affected by the Colombian conflict.
